What We Believe
Each
one of us is to be a light shining for Jesus. When people see a life
lived contrary to the world, we hope they will be drawn to Christ. We
are to be a people who are faithful in our worship, witness and action,
that in all we say and do we are proclaiming the Good News of Jesus
Christ.
We
believe that every person is important to God and that God created us
and desires to be in a relationship with us. Once we come to know God's
forgiveness and unconditional love, we can experience the Holy Spirit
beginning to transform our lives. It is a response to God's love that
allows us to make a commitment to follow Christ's example for our daily
living.
Our Mission
The mission of Morningside Lutheran Church is, "To bring people into a relationship with Jesus Christ which results in changing lives and a commitment to follow his example."
Our Doctrine
Morningside Lutheran Church has been affiliated with Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC)
since January of 2004. LCMC is an association of congregations that has
great respect for the reality that the church is where the people of
God are gathered together around Word and Sacrament. The local
congregation is where the church becomes a concrete reality for God's
people. At the same time, we are joyously aware that each congregation
is a part of the greater body of Christ. The actions of each
congregations within our association reflect on our association as a
whole, and the actions of our association reflects on the whole body of
Christ. For this reason, we have committed ourselves to a common set of
ministry standards.
MLC is a member of the Evangelical Renewal District (ERD) and the Heartland District within LCMC.
